sponge 55 foundation tool was designed by shu uemura's makeup artist for an efficient yet perfect application. the ergonomic shape of the foundation sponge handle was designed to be held easily and comfortably. use the smooth sponge surface of this foundation sponge to apply foundation in a gliding motion to achieve an even application. for areas where more glow is desired such as cheekbones, use a tapping motion to build a natural glow.
for easier care, the sponge is detachable from the handle when cleaning. refill sponges are available for continuous use with the handle.

It’s great that shu uemura offers refills for this sponge. I did buy a couple of them. However, I do have the shu uemura sponge cleaner, so after a few washes I will replace them sponges for a new one.
