I was a fan of the original S curler. For whatever reason, a full sizer curler always has bothered me. Tough to navigate without a "pinching" sensation. Yes, if you are a fan of a larger size (width) curler and only one pass on your eyelashes-- this may seem time consuming. Trick is you just have to hit your lashes by moving the curler along lash line.. Place... crimp Place... crimp. I find two to three places and I'm ready to go. This is the holy grail for someone that only wants to flip the outer ends out. Enjoy

I'm kind of twitchy about my eyes and getting anything near them, and so I've had a difficult relationship with eyelash curlers - even the widely-adored original Shu curler, much to my disappointment. The new S-curler, though, is great. I received it yesterday and while I was a bit skeptical at first, with a few practice sessions I feel like it's easier to get closer to the base of my lashes while at the same time I have to worry less about pinching myself. I'm not sure what the secret is, exactly - the narrower width might be part of it, and I'm pretty sure that white covering on top that serves as a sort of guard is part of it as well - but I'm very pleased with it so far and will be forsaking my other curlers in favor of this one.

My eye shape and level of curl between left and right is very different and I could never find an eyelash curler that worked well on both and didn't mess up the curl on the outside lashes. This is the perfect curler for me. I found no value in the white piece and it kept popping off anyway so I took that off. I heat up the curler with the dryer like a do any curler and then work inside to outside curling the lash. Each eye takes about four light squeezes. The best part is that the outside of the lash is nicely curled but not crimped like it always was with other curlers. A little awkward to use in the beginning but now that I've got the hang of it, it provides the perfect, custom curl for each eye.

I was so excited to purchase this eyelash curler. I made a trip to Japan and while passing through the Narita airport I convinced my co-workers to purchase these for their wives and girlfriends. We endangered our schedule because we all had to go to the store and get the blasted eyelash curler. I'm downright mad I bought so many for my friends. The curler works well but the black rubber cushion falls off and then the curler is useless. I gave these as gifts to some of my friends and acquaintances! I'm so embarrassed for shu uemura. Spend $6 at the drugstore for a generic one--it will last longer.

I've used the other Shu curler for a long time and love it, but I wanted to try this one despite the conflicting reviews. And I love it even more. This curls my stick straight Asian lashes and I have more control and precision. I can reach all the tiny lashes in the inner corner and actually get them curled. It takes a little longer and some practice, but this curler is worth it.

Loved it until the black rubber piece fell out. I tried to buy a replacement. Now it's useless. Shu Uemura needs to offer replacement pieces if the design is not being revised to fix this issue. Thank you!

Never used any kind of that tool before, naturally my eyelashes go up....but i was convinced to by because of Murakami additional decor - i got one and tried. Since then i don't even start applying mascara without curling lashes. It gives fantastic lift and curl - eyes look different and i'm more than happy with this curler. Thank you for your work!

I have very long, but fine, STRAIGHT blonde eyelashes. This perfect little curler finds every last lash and instantly perks them upwards for a beautifully great effect on my eyes! This tool is a MUST HAVE and will not disappoint. Very easy to use with NO pulling, crimping, or damage to lashes!

Hands down a beauty breakthrough. Easy to clean, curls short/straight lashes. You can customize your model/client lashes. Much less intimidating and more comfortable. The white cushion isn't the greatest because it falls off but if you glued it lightly it would stay. Very pleased with the product have gotten many clients to buy it because they see much of a difference. Very disappointed in such low reviews it deserves much more.

I love this product but being forced to buy a whole new curler because your don’t have refills is so bad foe the environment I won’t buy your product anymore. Profit over the environment is bad business practice when we are all doing our bit why can’t you do yours & give us the ability to purchase refills.
