I fell in love with this curler on the very first use. I have average-to-long eyelashes (and some have a tendancy to naturally stick straight out) which always created a problem with regular-sized curlers. Either I could never get all my lashes in the curler without pinching them (or my eyelid) OR I would squeeze all my lashes in the curler then end up with an odd crease because of the natural curve of my eye. This new curler solves all those problems!! Yes, it does take about 3 swipes per eye to get all my lashes curled but because I can do small sections at a time, my lashes curl with the curve of my eye, I can get right up to my lash line to make a "taller" curl and my lashes basically just look prettier :) The smaller design of this new curler also allows me to focus more on my outer lashes and make them really stand out when doing a smokey or cat-eye look. I haven't had any problems with the black pad and I've been using this curler for several months. I took the white pad off before I used the curler the first time...I just thought that piece was to protect it while in the retail packaging. Overall, I honestly don't understand the negative reviews for this product. I'm sure some people are used to the original curler and like it better but this one clearly states in the description its smaller - so I don't know why people are surprised when they can't do their entire eye in one squeeze lol. I take my time (as much as possible when I'm rushing around before work every morning) with my makeup and I've found that when I properly curl my lashes with this curler, my mascara goes on smoother and I don't need nearly as much. I have recommended this curler to my own friends and it's definitely a must-have in my makeup bag!

Shu Uemura's original curler is considered a must-have by so many makeup artists and aficionados so I bought one when they used to be available at an American beauty retailer. It worked fine but I didn't see what the big deal was compared to other cage curlers. Flash forward a few years and I saw some video reviews about the New Generation S Curler and decided to give it a try. It doesn't have a cage so it doesn't weirdly crimp lashes on the sides. I don't understand why the ratings are so low, but maybe it's because you have to use it slightly differently than a standard curler? You can't curl in one go with the S Curler but I find it just works better.

For a long time I have been purchasing Shu Eumera eyelash curler, I have been wanting to try the New Generation eyelash curler. Finally bought it this week. AWESOME!! it is a smaller size eye lash curler and at first I was surprised and caught off guard. Took me a few minutes to get a feel for it but....then... I tried it! it is wonderful. Has exact precision to target exact area of eye lashes. I started at the end of my lashes and went to the other end and curled them in three sections and each section was perfection! my lashes looked great And LONGER!! LOVE it!!!!

I fell in love with this curler from the get. I’ve gotten so used to this cutler that it’s very uncomfortable to use a regular one. The only problem I have with it it’s not the curler itself, it’s that not having replacement rubber tips for it. The piece fell out of my wand and you don’t sell replacements for it. That’s a big shame! Not I have a curler I love but I can’t use it anymore. You should seek replacement rubber tips for it. I’m sure that ppl who love this curler wand will be more than willing to pay for it. I rated this a 4 star because of this issue otherwise it would’ve been a10 Star for me. Do consider.

Finally an eyelash curler that works on every single lash w/o crimping and making outer eyelashes curl & crimp inward. I have pin straight eyelashes that actually point downward. They are not sparse, but not extremely full either and my length is average. This curler works exactly as it states it does and yes there is a slight learning curve, but nothing you wouldn't easily adjust to. I tried it as soon as I received it, even though I didn't have any mascara handy and was going w/o. Wow! They even looked great w/o the mascara. Can't wait to see how they look with it.

I'm asian so my eyelashes are not naturally curled and I got this during chinese new year 15% discount off. It is literally the best eyelash curler I have ever used. I can concentrate on one side of the eyelashes and to make it curl perfectly. It doesn't hurts even if I want to go near the roots. Whoever designed it is a genius!!!! Definitely recommend to people like me who doesn't know how to curl beautifully using a normal eyelash curler.

I got this on a whim but find it's very useful & I use it way more than I thought I would. This is great for touch ups & using on hard to reach inner & outer corners. The way my lashes grow, most of the time either the inner or, more likely, the outer lashes get left out of the curler. THIS curler remedies that with ease. It took just a little practice to feel comfortable using but it wasn't hard, just new to use (I mean this IS a New, Revolutionary product!) Once you get the hang of it, it's quite easy, smooth & gentle to use. And it's Fabulous on getting those stray lashes to curl! Because it's smaller than the regular curler, this one gets put in my to-go makeup bag. It's So cute!

Received it in the mail and was hoping for positive results. I have deep set eyes and although I love the original curler, this is the bomb for me. I can get super close to my lash line and the results are fabulous. Yes, there is a learning curve but for small, different shaped, or deep set eyes I highly recommend it. My new best friend :)

As a makeup artist, this is a MUST have! When curling somebody else's lashes, I sometimes find it difficult to curl the inner and outer lashes on my client's eyes, and this curler allows me to curl them perfectly. Also, it is wonderful to make sure natural and false lashes blend together. LOVE it! I use both the S Curler and the classic Shu Uemura curler.

I have very straight eyelashes and I was able to operate this new curler effectively rather quickly. The first month I used it, it was fine. The little white rubber piece fell off so I just tossed it. By the second month, the black rubber had worn dramatically and when I used it, several lashes were pulled out. I have never seen my lashes look so sparse. So by month 2, the rubber piece (black) had to be replaced. That is not a good value! I will buying the original and sticking with it.
