I have short, stubborn Asian lashes, and I’ve tried every curler and mascara on the market. At the end of the day, it really just comes down to what works for your face. I used to force my lashes up at the base for maximum height, but it always looked weird from the side and clashed with false lashes, looking like they were too big for my eyes. I picked this one up hoping for a softer curve, and it delivered for me. It looks more natural with mascara or false lashes. It’s a bit deeper than average, but I can still get that soft c curl and even get that 'sky high' look but with a more natural bend. Taking off one star because of the pads—they have a unique shape with a crevice, meaning you can't really replace them. I didn't even get a spare as stated in the description. You either have to buy a whole new curler, which feels a bit wasteful, or buy regular pads which defeats the purpose of it's design. Still, the result worked for me. The moogle charm is cute too. Picked this one up on a whim to try out this 'W' curler during a 30% site sale after passing on the Sailor Moon and Hello Kitty collabs. Not 100% sure if I'll buy it again if the pad wears down, though.
I was already a fan of this eyelash curler before the FFXIV collab. It fits the shape of my Asian eyes. I prefer the W model because it doesn't crimp my lashes as much as the iconic model. The only thing I'm disappointed in is that the cute FFXIV themed box arrived crushed. It would've been great if more care went into the packing and handling for a Limited Edition item.
I’ve never used an eyelash curler with this design! There’s definitely much less pressure on my lashes during curling with this design; it also creates a softer and more natural angled curl.
