Very effective. Gives much more curl than my other brand curler did--great for those of us with long, straight lashes.

A couple of years ago I started shopping for a new eyelash curler to replace my trusty Maybelline that finally broke. I quickly realized that either my eye shape changed or all of the eyelash curlers did. I bought another Maybelline as it was the only one that fit my eyes, but the quality just wasn't the same. And it tended to pinch the skin around my eyes. That's when I discovered Shu Uemura. FINALLY an eyelash curler that had the right curve, depth and curling power that I needed for my very straight eyelashes. Now I own 2, one for home, one for travel. Whew!

Wish you could buy replacement pads otherwise it is a 5 star
