I am using this as a replacement for the basic until I can find a better mascara at a different brand. OR...you could just bring the basic back!

I have been a loyal Shu Umera Mascara Basic user since forever. If I knew how much I would miss the perfect result I got from the Basic, I would have stocked enough to last until your marketing team realized they need to bring back it back! I am using the Ultra Natural, but there really is no comparison. Thinking of going back to Lancome Defenicils. Maybe if enough people complain.....

Shu Uemura Basic Mascara was wonderful - a gentle lasting precise easy to curl mascara absolutely perfect for those who do not require a massively volumizing mascara. It was easy to remove and gentle on the eyes. PERFECT. This does not work as well at all - it isn't terrible but it isn't special, no better than drug store varieties.
I think there are legions of loyal users who would love to have the old basic mascara again. It is a natural product to highlight along with the still great eyelash curler. Who made the crazy decision to muck up a fine and formerly reliable product?
PLEASE rethink this.

Please bring back the Basic mascara. I used it for many years and it never failed to please. My pale, but long, lashes looked great - and natural. I hate the clumpy ragged fake look of most mascaras out there - which now, unfortunately, includes yours. I am in my 70's and can't really get away with clumpy, blobby lashes. About a year ago I found an old, never-used Basic mascara in the bottom of a drawer. It was like finding buried treasure! It's gone now, and I am back to the Ultimate, which can't compare. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!" Bring back the Basic - please!

Why would you change something that was perfect? You had the best mascara on the market and you switched for one that is below average. Your Basic Mascara, which I used for years, stayed all day, never flaked or smeared and made my short, straight lashes look beautiful and natural. It also stayed smooth and never globbed up in the tube. The Ultimate, smears, flakes and disappears after a few hours.

I agree with other reviewers, this does not replace the Basic. It does not hold the curl the way the basic did. Please bring back the basic!

I loved the Basic mascara. My lashes tend to straighten out even after curled with any other mascara, but when I found Basic, I was thrilled. It made my lashes look great! This one is no where near as nice--and I've used it a lot, trying to give it a chance. BRING BACK THE OLD FORMULA! PLEASE!

I was a die-hard fan of mascara basic & so disappointed when it went away, but I've been very happy with ultimate natural mascara as a replacement. It gives me length & holds the curl, not much volume but I wasn't looking for that. It also lasts through sweaty workouts & hot yoga and doesn't flake or move until I take it off. I find it very flattering and easy to live in. Hope it doesn't disappear too!
